The 2006 Vintage
Winter was marked by below-average temperatures for the season, with little rainfall in January being followed by changeable weather in February, rain alternating with snow. Spring saw mostly dry weather in March and April, but an exceptionally wet May. A hot, dry start to summer subsequently made way for milder temperatures in August, and the harvest yielded up sound, rich grapes capable of producing wines of excellent quality.
Vineyard
The grapes for this wine are grown on the vinyard located in the commune of Barbaresco (255 m.s.l.m.); on land registry map sheet V, on parcel n.102 (planted in 1978). Every year we add to this a selection of Nebbiolo grapes from the other vineyards located in Barbaresco. The total surface area of this vineyard is 0.19,00 hectars dedicated exclusively to the growing of Nebbiolo. The vineyard faces east, on white soil of a mainly calcareous and clayey composition.
