The 2006 Vintage
Winter was marked by below-average temperatures for the season, with little rainfall in January being followed by changeable weather in February, rain alternating with snow. Spring saw mostly dry weather in March and April, but an exceptionally wet May. A hot, dry start to summer subsequently made way for milder temperatures in August, and the harvest yielded up sound, rich grapes capable of producing wines of excellent quality.
